- Age 93 of Freshwater, Placentia Bay. It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected but peaceful passing of our Dad and Pop at Carbonear General Hospital. Predeceased by his wife Mary on December 25th, 2007. Peter was the last living member of the family of John & Bridget Barron. Predeceased by sisters Alice, Minnie, Elizabeth, Rhoda, Margaret, & Laura Maude and brothers Lar, John & Fergus. Leaving to mourn his children and grandchildren Bridget (Tony Tobin), Joshua & Kyle, Irene (Glenn Murphy), Sarah, Jenna & Jason, Derrick (Patrisha Walsh), Courtnie, Shirley (Ken Greene) & his furry friend Misha (Leisha as he called her). Sister-in-laws Gertie Brown, Lillian Mulrooney & brother-in-law Dan (Madonna).
He had so many special people in his life especially his nephew Garry Barron, Fred & Nora Mulrooney, Marg & Joe Barron, John & Irene Whittle and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Peter was well known as a master accordion player; playing since the age of eight. His musical ability was admired by many. he was always up for playing a few tunes with friends and will be remembered for the way he shared his talents and love of music with the world. Resting at Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia on Thursday, 7 - 9 , Friday from 12 - 9. Funeral Mass to take place on Saturday August 4, 2012 at Holy Rosary Church, Freshwater at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow in Coombs Memorial Cemetery, Southeast, Placentia
