      SURETTE'S ISLAND

May 29? It is our sad duty to announce the death of Mrs. Jos. Surette, which occurred this afternoon about 2:30. Mrs. Surette was a kind, loveable old lady, and was esteemed by old and young alike. She was 69 years of age, and had been ailing for a number of years. She leaves to mourn a husband, four daughters, Mrs. John LeBlanc of Morris Island; Mrs. Julienne Surette; Mary Ann and Nelsie; four sons, Jovite, Elien, Evie and Thomas, who are away in the States; 12 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Mande Bourque of Sluice Point; two brothers, John and Eustace Babine, of Belleville (the latter lies in a critical condition at time of writing); besides a large number of other relatives and friends. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved ones.
