  Joyce was born, Annie Joyce Murdock. She later adopted the name, Joyce Ann. She grew up in several West Texas locations, as well as Mission, Hidalgo County, in deep South Texas. She graduated from San Angelo Central HS about 1951. Joyce met and married Raymond Gorski, in San Angelo, a local radio personality originally from Houston. About 1953, they moved to Midland, Texas, where Raymond became an on-air-live director and commentator for the fledgling KMID television station. It as during this time that Raymond adapted the name, "Jerry Blair" for professional reasons. He apparently used that name for the rest of his life. It is believed that the name was officially changed about 1970. Joyce was first cousin to the famed Dallas Cowboys Head Coach, Tom Landry. Joyce and Jerry had two children, a son and daughter. Joyce and Jerry apparently lived out their lives in Dallas, Texas.
