- Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Flater (nee Arnold), 72, affectionately known as Mom Mom to her grandchildren, departed this life on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.
She was born to the late Roger G & Nannie May Arnold (nee Warfield) on December 13, 1948 & was raised in Mount Airy, MD.
Betty Attended Carroll County Public Schools & her graduating class of 1966 was the last class to graduate at Mt. Airy High School.
She married Joe Flater, in November 1967, and to this union, 3 children were born Terri, Joey, and Dougie.
Betty worked at the U.S. Post Office in New Market for over 30 years as a rural Letter Carrier.
Left to cherish fond & loving memories are her loving husband, Joe; devoted mother to her 3 children; Terri & husband David Eaves of Rossville, GA, Joey Flater & wife Heather of Manchester, and Doug Flater & wife Becca of New Windsor. Loving grandmother of 7 grandchildren DJ & Shannon Eaves, Sammie, Savannah, & Sarah Flater; and Justin & Kyle Flater. Devoted sister of Roger Arnold & wife Priscilla of Mt. Airy, Jimmy Arnold & wife Flo of Gaithersburg; sister-in-law, Lynda Arnold of New Windsor, Aunt Ada Bohn of Sykesville, and many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
She was preceded in death by her 2 brothers William "Bill" Arnold & Richard "Richie" Arnold.
