  Mamie was the oldest daughter of William Ralph "Dee" Jones and Maryanna Sommerville Jones. She knew from a very young age that she wanted to be a nurse when she grew up and she followed through on that dream. Mamie attended nursing school and joined the Army Nurse Corps and was stationed at Camp Logan. She died in the Spanish flu epidemic that swept through the camp in the fall of 1918. Mamie was a sweet soul much loved by all who knew her.
