    • TOWNSEND: Charles T. Surette, 86, of Townsend, passed away, after a brief battle with cancer, with his family by his side on Thursday March 21, 2024.
      Born November 27, 1937 in Chelsea, Charles was the son of Emile Surette and Loretta (d'Entremont) Surette. He was raised in Chelsea and spent many years living in Burlington and Dracut.
      He is survived by his loving wife, Pauline ((d'Entremont) ) Surette and their three daughters ? Denise Clement and her husband Greg, Diane Coffin and her husband Edward, and Nicole Carta and her partner James Mericantante. In addition, he was a doting grandfather to Danielle, Micaela, Renee, Gaven, Eddie, and Christopher as well as eight great-grandchildren.
      He is predeceased by his brother, Edward, and granddaughter, Melissa D'Eon.
      Charles attended Northeastern University in the evenings while raising his family and working full time. He obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering and spent many years working in the power plant industry.
      Three of his favorite hobbies were fishing, golfing, and attending the various sports events / activities of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
      He was a loving and devoted family man. With his kind smile, and friendly, gentle demeanor, he made friends everywhere he went. He will be missed by so many.
